"Box Office Battle" is The Fly's weekly roundup of what movies topped the weekend's box office.
AT&T (T) subsidiary Warner Bros.' "It: Chapter Two" stayed at top the domestic box office, earning another $40.8M. Overseas, the movie also came in at number one with another $47M from 78 markets for a foreign tally of $169.5M and $323.3M globally. The sequel received a B+ CinemaScore and 67% on Rotten Tomatoes.
BOX OFFICE RUNNERS-UP: STXFilms' "Hustlers" opened with $33.2M from 3,250 theaters at the U.S. box office. Behind it was Lionsgate's (LGF.A) "Angel has Fallen," grossing $4.4M from 3,076 locations. Comcast (CMCSA) subsidiary Universal's "Good Boys" placed number four, earning an estimated $4.3M for a cume of $73.3M. Rounding out the top five, Disney's (DIS) "The Lion King" grossed $3.6M from 2,365 theaters.
